Eminent Nigerians have made a fresh call on the President Goodluck Jonathan-led administration to re-open the case of a former Minister and Attorney General of the Federation, Chief Bola Ige, who was murdered by yet-to-be identified gunmen on December 23, 2001.

They also called for the re-arrest of prime suspects in the high profile murder.Among those that made the call are Governor Rauf Aregbesola of Osun State, Arewa Youths Consultative Forum and several members of civil rights groups who were at a symposium organised yesterday by the

Bola Ige Centre for Justice in memory of the late ex-minister held in the University of Ibadan.
According to Ogbeni Aregbesola who was represented by Mr Ibrahim Lawal, it was unacceptable to tag such a case unresolved murder.

Leaving such politically motivated killings unresolved, he reasoned, could instil fear in progressives who truly wanted to move the country forward.
