A former Commissioner of Information in Ondo State, veteran
broadcaster Ranti Akerele is dead. He passed away in his sleep in the
early hours of January 14, 2014, Tuesday, after a brief illness.
Late Ranti Akerele was the first Commissioner of Information under the current Governor, Olusegun Mimiko.
He was also a recipient of several awards, including the Nigeria Media Friends Award organized by CKN Nigeria, among others.
Mr. Ranti Akerele (1st on the right in the picture below) is seen alongside with other recipients of the award, Mike Effiong, Editor Ovation International, Declan Okpaleke, CNN Africa Award winner and current Senator Babafemi Ojudu.
The deceased was also a pastor at the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) in Ondo state.
He was 54 years old.
