FIFA 2014 W/Cup: Brazilian Embassy promises easy visas for Nigerians

Many Nigerians have always had it tough getting entry visas to host countries. Most often, even the members of the Nigeria Football Supporters Club have had to trim the number of  their members willing to travel. Even journalists, with supposedly genuine missions have been denied visas to some countries during suchevents.But that may not be the case when the 2014 FIFA World Cup billed for June in Brazil begins as Nigerians wishing to go to Brazil and cheer the Super Eagles have been promised easy entry visas into the country. Speaking to guests at  the Porsche Centre, Victoria Island during an open viewing of the World Cup draw, Deputy Consul-General of the Brazilian Embassy in Nigeria Cesario deAlexandria said, “all we will need from a fan of the Super Eagles is a match ticket and that would guarantee the person a visa.”He added that they want to make it as easy as possible for prospective visitors to Brazil during the tournament.Meanwhile, Optima Sports Management International, (OSMI) broadcast rights holders of the 2014 FIFA World Cup provided a glimpse of what those who will be in Brazil for next year’s Mundial willenjoy — a good dose of samba music and dance.Just before the draw which was transmitted on a large screen, guests were treated to vintage samba beats by a group that delighted all.The event which was an initiative of OPTIMA, brought together the corporate community, sports marketers and stakeholders to the Brazil 2014 World Cup.OSMI CEO, Rotimi Pedro told the gathering that the company will beam all matches of the 2014 WorldCup to Nigerian homes through terrestrial television and on radio and he also enlightened them on the market opportunities available.“We want to bring the best to Nigerian football fans. We have alsopartnered Sport radio, Brila fm to ensure those who may not be opportuned to be watching TV whilethe matches are on could put on their radio and tune to Brila. Nobody should miss one minute of action,”he said.
